How many times can I re-install Windows?

Microsoft had now gone on record saying that you can re-install Windows Vista up to 10 times, but it now appears that you can install or reinstall Windows again on the same device as many times as you want. You can also uninstall the software and install it on another device for your use, as many times as you want. But you cannot use the same license on two or more computers at the same time. You can’t use the same Windows product key to activate Windows on more computers than the Microsoft Software License Terms allow. In the case of a Retail license, you can use it on any one computer at a time. For a Family Pack, the number is 3 computers. And OEM license can be used only on the computer on which it came installed. For Enterprise consumers, the number would be variable. Activation pairs the Windows product key with information about your computer’s hardware. So if you make a significant hardware change to your computer, such as upgrading the hard disk and memory at the same time, you might be required to activate Windows again. You can read more about this at Microsoft. You can also read more here about Windows Desktop Licensing.
